  • Thanks

    Thanks

The new header and color scheme are from my friend, @moniet. The fact is she has designed all of the headers I've used for the past . . . Sheesh! I can't even remember how many years. It's been a long time. It's one of those things we ordinarily take for granted. I don't ever want to fall into that trap of taking my friends for granted. No doubt it happens to each of us at one time or another, but it's really a good idea to work on staying awake in that area. We take so much for granted. Hot showers, electricity, flush toilets, running water, grocery stores where we can go pick up food. When you think about it there are so many things we can easily take for granted. When life isn't as nice as we'd like it to be, when things don't appear to be going in a way that's in harmony with our ideas of how it should be, it's productive to simply stop ourselves and remember how good life is and why. It's because of our ability to communicate with one another. Our ability to love one another, to whatever degree we find it in our hearts to do. Love is what you do. It's not what you say. You can say anything. The world is full of words that float around in space and cyberspace. They're attached to nothing. No responsibility, no foundation, nothing. Just words and pixels waiting for us to fill them with meaning. Sure, there are people who pump out words with meaning behind them. Some good and some not so good, but few, very few with awareness, compassion, empathy, mercy and love.

Thank you, @moniet for always being there for me. I do appreciate you, your talents, your eye for beauty and your willingness to pitch in and help make James' World a bright spot.

  • Good to see you here again, James.
Are you on this side of the world?

  • You're more than welcome for the graphics, it's the least I can do!

  • Just beautiful!

  • A very great improvement: I can easily read it and the color scheme is pleasant. The picture reminds me of a few places I have lived or visited.

  • It creates, in the words of the Eagles, "a peaceful, easy feeeeeeeeling." And that is good, very good. I need lots more of those. So what is on your simmering heat coil, Mr. James? I would love to know what is in your craw that will insprire you to write about! And more Buddy pics, please. Just gotta love that dog! Here, here for Buddy stories! (Smiles, in hope)

  • @spinner_mom - Yes, she does nice work. I'm quite happy with this.

  • @BeesKneesC - Well, I'm not really here, but who knows. I might be.

  • @WordJames - Yes, the dark was getting to me. This is refreshing and more in harmony with my inner state these days.

  • @winniezpoo - That dog is sleeping on the love seat behind me right now. He's still the most loving being I've ever known and we're still learning from each other. I'm pretty busy editing recordings for a fourth weekly podcast so I haven't written much. We'll see . . .

  • I tend to be pretty vocally appreciative of my friends and their strengths. Life is empty without the other humans - whether they're being useful (and/or taken for granted) or in the pain-in-the-ass season of the friendship lol.

  • @oceanstarr - That's great! I'm happy for your friends. It's good to acknowledge and accept the reality that what has a front has a back too.

  • @James -
I'd guess the color is cyan or close to it. Does that imply your inner state tends to be cyanotic? I think my inner state tends to be flesh colored. Or it used to be before I started having skin rashes.

When I was signing out after my last reply to you, I spotted a message asking people why they had joined Xanga. The question brought back memories of those early days, so I replied that I had come to Xanga because of a series of messages I received from Bianca, the mythical representative Blogger for Xanga. Do you remember Bianca?

  • Hey@WordJames - Hey, James. No, not exactly. Cyan may be more like what my inner state tastes like though. It's sweet and mellow. Laid back and easy going. I like it.

Yes, I remember Bianca very well. I also remember all the hoopla about her fictitious self too. Back in the day it seems like we could complain about everything. I think of something you wrote when I was going through some rough water on xanga. Something about xanga failing to keep the dogs out. They do a much better job today it seems, but I fear it was too little too late. A fate I expect Facebook to suffer in the not too distant future. It's like the wild west over there. Anyway, I think of you and what you wrote many times a week. It was one of the only times I ever felt that someone on xanga really "got" me. Thanks for that and for your valuable friendship all these years.

  • I'm always happy to read your words, James. They usually put many thoughts into my head, and from there, it goes all over.LOL Wisdom comes in many guises; words spark creativity and worlds are born. Thanks for your wisdom, my friend, and give BuddyLove a hug from me.
