Banners
Little did I know the response the request for a banner would elicit. To say I'm amazed would make me the prince of understatement. Hey, I'm a prince and no one had to kiss me. Probably won't last. I'll be a frog again before long but that's okay because I'm a happy frog. The banner you see today was created and presented by moniet. It speaks for her beautifully. When I saw it I was stunned and got teary eyed. I don't know why so don't bother asking. Beauty affects me that way sometimes. Of course I had to change some colors on the page to go with it. She was helpful and watched as I did it, feeding me color codes form the banner on AIM and then watching the page transform into what you see today. Life is interesting in yet another way. If you've got something good and something bad from which to choose there's hardly a decision to make. Life rarely does that. We are more often given choices between many good things. That's when decision making becomes difficult. moniet did three banners. All three lovely. This one took my breath away. The other two are not finished but they have great promise. What do I need with three banners? If you know anything about me at all you know I don't need one banner.
There's more. There always is. Three other people did banners too. One did one, another did three and still another did four or five. As you may have divined this presents a problem as there is space for one banner. I like them all, some more than others, but they are all good. But I love problems because they require solutions and give me the opportunity to practice creative problem solving. I'm going to rotate the banners. At first I was going to use a script to rotate them but the color theme of the banners are all so different the page will need to change too. It will take me a little while but I'm going to work up a page for each banner and change it all at once. But for right now this banner stays put while I work on the others.
Because I believe each person deserves to be acknowledged for what they do I will not tell you who the other people are until their banner comes up. I have told moniet what I think of her banner and thanked her privately many times. She deserves public acknowledgment as well. moniet, thank you for your wonderful heart, generous nature and lovely spirit. I am amazed and grateful, pleased and honored. You have inspired me with one simple act of kindness. It's wiped away the recollection of the thoughtless and inconsiderate acts of the child vandal who could create nothing. As so many thoughtless people he could only destroy the beauty others brought forth. It's easy to see who the winner is and why. This way we all win.

it appears as a solid white box to me.... maybe that's an html glitch, or maybe i ain't lookin' right, or maybe that's actually the banner itself..... regardless, it's a clean slate.
yay Moniet and yay James! how wonderful, and what a beautiful banner it is!
What a stunning and beautiful banner. Really takes your breath away, James. Great job Moniet. It looks like a picture book that I had as a kid. Not the picture itself, just the look of it. Almost 3D-ish and yet so vibrant. Just beautiful!
SOrry I haven't been here in awhile, been reding you, just hadn't had time to comment. Too bad that shmuck vandal had to mess with your site. Some people just have nothing better to do.
It's quite lovely. Looking forward to seeing the others rotate through.
And yes, I do think we get what we need when we need it.
That is simply awesome in the oldest sense I have of the word. Really, when the page loaded it caught my eye and I actually 'Oh!'d" out loud. What talent.
OK, now I'm all teary eyed...you're very welcome for this one, and the others yet unfinished. I think most people make multiples because we don't always know exactly what the other person will like, so a choice is given. But this one was far and away my favorite.
Back to work again...LOL
that banner kicks some serious bootay! who are these talented people? it makes me feel very small.
very ZEN-ish.
okay... i had to view it from a different browser. that's mighty perty. it looks like a nice place.
It is lovely. Good Job Moniet! Beautiful.
Has she told you what is written in characters? LOL...
She didn't know. We've been making stuff up though. I think that may be more fun.
I love how vibrant the colors are!
But I gotta say, in my eyes nothing can top a naked elf...

wonderful, in so many ways!
Being wealthy happens in a lot of different ways. Some inherit, some earn and some just love it out of people.
Thinking of you, I forgot about Moniet and didn't mean to. She is a talented lady and knows how to work that brush and software. Really beautiful.
Simply beautiful! I hope one day to be able to do half of what Moniet can do with her graphics.
Hugs!
That banner is beautiful! I wish I had time to teach myself how to do them! One day hopefully I will!
That is a lovely banner. Since I don't have premium, I can't have one of those.
Great looking banner james! I agree it is beutiful
Stunning stuff...Moniet made me that lovely logo on my page...one very nice and creative lady

that's really pretty...i like the way the grass looks so soft and all...and the ripples in the water.
she made my very first banner for me and some of the backgrounds i used to use, too. she is good, that's for sure.
...now we need to know what those characters mean....
can you put in a banner on xanga for cheapskates?
very nice and it doesn't crash my pocket pc...I like!!!!
(i mean, does xanga allow it for nonpremium peoples?)
The banner so beautifully captures the sense of James'World---a threshold, a bridge spanning a mysterious expanse, the light helping you believe you can cross. Would have made me cry too.
Looks good on ya....
Beautiful banner...love the whole package..
I think the idea of rotating banners is a good one. It adds some spice to your site! I do like this particular banner. It is very serene, yet suggests movement - crossing the bridge. Very nice, moniet!
very beautiful banner James...I love it...have a wonderful weekend...enjoy...Huggs...Sassy
I agree with RaggedBlossom.
Yes, I agree with RaggedBlossom too. Too often.
I love it! I cannot read the bottom, however. Please, tell me what it says!
That is truly a beautiful banner. It's very peaceful and dreamy.
The banner is so beautiful and vibrant.
Just a moment before hitting the sack to say the banner and page colors are neat.
Won't talk about adversity since I just left siblings etc. and came home to peace and quiet.
Moniet is awesome with this stuff
